Executive Director – Ellis Wongsearaya

Ellis Wongsearaya is Executive Director of Three Percent Earth Foundation, and also serves as the organisation’s Policy Research Analyst. Originally from Bangkok, and having spent the majority of his life in North America he brings a diversity of social, cultural, and educational perspective to the benefit of the organisation, and its mission. He has over a decade of multi-disciplinary experience with government, university, and non-profit sectors.

During his time with environmental and public health state agencies in New Hampshire (United States) Mr. Wongsearaya developed numerous technical environmental policy guidelines and assessment reviews on issues ranging from safe drinking water regulation to large-scale pesticides use. He also served as public health representative to the State Pesticide Control Board (Department of Agriculture).

He has presented professional risk assessment and environmental policy research at international conferences for the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry in the United States, and Canada, as well as for the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health in Japan; and has prior experience with university and non-profit sector projects in chemicals policy with The Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction Institute, and Safer Pest Control Project (Midwest Pesticide Action Center). He also served as legal intern with the Trust for Americas Health in Washington DC where he conducted a statutory analysis of state birth defects mandates leading to a publication abstract in the online periodical Frontiers in Fetal Health for the 5th Annual Conference of the National Birth Defects Prevention Network.

Mr. Wongsearaya holds an MSc (Thesis) in Toxicology from the University of Toronto, an MPP in Environmental Policy from Tufts University, and earned his JD degree from Vermont Law School with a specialisation in Environmental Law.
